†     A Song of Celebration

“Give thanks to the Lord for he is good, his mercy endures forever! Let that be the prayer of the Lord’s redeemed, those redeemed from the hand of the foe.” – Psalms 107:1-2

Easter is a time of celebration, and our God is a God who delights in all creation. During Lent, we took time to assess our own spiritual journeys, to search out those obstacles that stood in the way of bettering our relationships with God and others.

Let us take this Easter time, then, to celebrate. What are those gifts God has given us in which we should delight? How often do we call to mind the fact that God looks upon each of us as unique individuals and smiles? Despite our shortcomings and flaws and mistakes, God delights in our very being-and we should, too!

Let us spend time this Easter celebrating each other-our accomplishments, our sacrifices, our very selves. Bring your community together and enjoy each other’s company and gifts with this Community Celebration. And let us take a moment to reflect on the role that gratitude plays in each of our personal and communal prayers.
