Catholic Social Teaching:

Stewardship of Creation

“Ever since the creation of the world, his invisible attributes of eternal power and divinity have been able to be understood and perceived in what he has made.”

-Romans 1:20

There is inherent integrity to all of creation, and it requires careful stewardship of all our resources, ensuring that we use and distribute them justly and equitably-as well as planning for future generations.

“The book of Genesis tells us that God created man and woman entrusting them with the task of filling the earth and subduing it, which does not mean exploiting it, but nurturing and protecting it, caring for it through their work.”

-Pope Francis (May 1, 2013), Feast of St. Joseph the Worker and World Labor Day
